TE TOHU - LOGO

Ruamoko is the unborn child of Ranginui (Sky Father) and Papatuanuku (Mother Earth). Ruamoko therefore is the God of Earthquakes. This is how Maori Deaf feel, that they are unborn into the world of Maori.

Ruamoko is repesented here as 'move and shake'. The vibrations we feel are a strong part of our culture: "takahia to waewae" (stamp your feet) and "hurihia o ringaringa" (move your hands).
