Kia ora. My Name is Michelle Keenan.  I am originally from Blenheim (top of the South Island). I have remained in Auckland for thirty years, during that time I have had my five children Jasmine 28, James 27, Piri 19, Tremayne 17, Tyson 15. I also have five wonderful grandchildren.

I have worked at KDEC for 12 years now. Starting at St Leonards with Jeanette Biddick, Kelston Primary school with Juliet, K.D.E.C Base School Primary Department and now I am in Transition with students 16 -21.

My first time as a Parent elected onto a B.O.T was at Kelston Intermediate 2004 -2009. I was Chair- at Kelston Intermediate from 2005 -2008. The school has under gone major changes, it is now thriving and in good heart, so time for me to move on, that is why I put my name forward for Staff Trustee.

It would be a challenge to be Staff Trustee.  I would Endeavour to represent the views of staff to the best of my ability. I believe being a mother, a previous BOT member,  sharing skills,  experience and passion that I share in my work,  to see where the direction is  in Deaf Education. Believing DEAF CAN!!! And WILL!!.
